Bold new Sonoma County vintage celebrates more than a quarter-century of Lionheart winemaking tradition
SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. – July 22, 2026 – Leonhardt Vineyards today announced the release of its barrel-aged 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon, a distinctive Sonoma County wine created as a tribute to the timeless character, complexity and enduring appeal of one of the world’s most celebrated varietals.
Founded in Sonoma County in 1999 by Howard Leonhardt and Ryan Leonhardt, Leonhardt Vineyards has spent more than 26 years building its reputation for wines with bold character, exceptional quality and approachable drinkability. The founders believe the newly released 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon may be among the finest wines the vineyard has produced.

The barrel-aged 2023 vintage opens with inviting aromas of cedar and leather, complemented by a delicate whiff of rose petal. Light cherry undertones lead into soft black-pepper nuances, all tied around a rich, generous and jammy core.
The result is a full-flavored Cabernet Sauvignon that roars with the well-established LIONHEART reputation for bold, courageous taste while remaining smooth, balanced and highly drinkable.
